When is it too late?

It's never too late.

It's also not the fault of the student. Usually a flawed teaching method or a disjointed exposure to learning to read is to blame.

Adults who read poorly according to studies by the John Howard Society, the UN and the London Board of Education have problems functioning fully if their reading level is below a grade 9 level. 20% of adults over 15 fall in this category.

What is needed is a reassuring step-by-step method, that does not insult the learner by being for children, but that does cover all the important steps, either as a quick review or a first-time clear explanation.

Often the nonreader hides the fact even from bosses and family. A course is needed that does not require him or her to admit this any more openly than he chooses to do so. What is needed is privacy.

Being able to read well opens up a whole new world.
